El doesn't quite acknowledge that, had Liu not been chosen, she would definitely have been working on the other side of that wall. I also love that the focus here, what's wrong in the world, is about systems rather than individuals. ![]() The revelation about creating the enclaves: I was definitely expecting something like this, but hadn't guessed this in particular, and it was appropriately horrifying. ![]() Such a fabulous and elegant answer to the question, and very much what I wanted to see (I especially was concerned early on there would be some new Big Bad introduced, which was not at all the direction I wanted the trilogy to go). It had been there from the beginning and yet I didn't see it, even once we had the pieces to put it together. ![]() The revelation about what was destroying the enclaves: Wow, this was brilliantly set up.
